Service blueprint builder
Sketch a service blueprint in minutes: the stages a user goes through, what happens front stage and back stage, the systems involved, where AI could sit, and where it hurts today. Export it as an image for a workshop or a slide.
Your service
Start from the example and overwrite it. Up to eight stages. Leave a cell blank if it does not apply.
Reading a blueprint
Each column is a stage in the user's journey. The rows show what the user does, what they see (front stage), what the organisation does behind the scenes (back stage), the systems and data involved, where an AI touchpoint could help, and the pain point at that stage.
Tips
- Fill the pain point row first. It tells you where the blueprint will earn its keep.
- Only put something in the AI touchpoint row where a person still makes the decision. If you cannot describe the failure path, leave it blank.
- A blueprint is a conversation tool: print it, put it on a wall and let the people who run the service correct it.
This is the lightweight version of what we build in service blueprinting engagements, where the content comes from research rather than a workshop guess.
Need the real thing?
We blueprint services from evidence, for one journey or a whole programme.
